Patek Philippe has offered several perpetual calendar models over the past decade. The reference 5040R-017 is the most interesting aesthetically, in my opinion. The dial features both classical elements, like the Breguet Arabic numerals, hands, and minutes chapter at the periphery of the Silvery "Argente" Dial.

The Patek Philippe reference 5040 features a perfectly proportioned tonneau shape case. Dimensions are 41mm long by 35mm wide by 8.5mm thick. It's an eminently wearable size, and fits easily under shirt cuffs. Sapphire crystals front and rear. This 5040 is in 18k rose gold.

This is an 18K rose gold Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar, 5040R. It has a leather strap with an 18K rose gold deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 35.8mm diameter solid, two-body curved tonneau-shaped case is polished with a snap-on display sapphire crystal case back. The dial is silver with applied rose gold Breguet radial Arabic numeral hour markers, and rose gold Breguet-style hands. There is a black outer railway-style track with minute divisions. A combination subsidiary dial for the month and a leap-year indicator are at 3 o'clock, and at 9 o'clock is an aperture for the month and a 24-hour register. The moon phase sub dial with date ring is at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the power reserve is 48 hours at maximum wind. The 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The automatic Patek Philippe calibre 240 Q movement is rhodium-plated and stamped with the prestigious Geneva Seal. It has fausses cotes embellishment and it's constructed with 27 jewels, 8 bridges, 275 components, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a free-sprung Glucydur Gyromax balance that adjusts for heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, a shock absorber mechanism, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a 22K gold micro-rotor. The mechanism oscillates at 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

Strap is hand-sewn Patek crocodile with an 18k rose gold Patek deployant clasp. These watches are exemplary and also a collector's dream watch.

This watch will be accompanied with an additional full two-year extended warranty from date of purchase from our sore along with a full insurance appraisal.
