Luminox Bear Grylls Survival ECO Master Chronograph Green Dial Green Textile Strap Date Divers Quartz Mens Watch Model# XB.3757.ECO / 3757.ECO In its quest for sustainability, Bear Grylls challenged Luminox even further by collaborating with Swiss company Tide Ocean SA, utilizing a new upcycled plastic, #tide ocean material. The eco-friendly material provides equal durability and water resistance as CARBONOX. This Survival Master chronograph watch features a 45 mm #tide ocean material case with a green textured dial matched with gray, skeletonized obelisk-style hands, Tritium-based luminescent tubes called LLT's that illuminate the watch thru its hands and around the chapter ring which also serve as hour markers together with arrows and Arabic numerals. This is complemented by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a uni-directional rotating #tide material bezel with a 60-minute scale and tachymeter, an illuminated bezel tip, and a date window at the 6 o'clock position. The three subdials feature 60-second, 30-minute, and 12-hour counters. A green #tide ocean material textile strap secured by a stainless steel signed buckle completes the tough and sporty look. This watch has a solid caseback inscribed with Bear Gryll's, Luminox's, and #tide's logos surrounded by "Every Second Counts" and "Never Give Up" mottos wherein underneath lies the Ronda caliber 5030.D, a Swiss quartz chronograph movement and is water-resistant up to 200 meters/660 feet.Like all of our watches, this Luminox Bear Grylls Survival ECO Master Chronograph Green Dial Green Textile Strap Date Divers Quartz Mens Watch is brand new and comes in its original packaging.Founded in 1989 by American Barry Cohen who envisioned developing high-performance sports watches combined with modern luminescence and legibility. Coined from the Latin words, "Lumi" meaning light, and "Nox" meaning night, Luminox watches are widely recognized for their tagline "Always Visible Technology" which is formally called "Luminox Light Technology" or "LLT". It uses safe tritium-based luminescence tubes which can give a constant glow for up to 25 years. 1992 was the breakout year for Luminox as the Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) for Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) for West Coast Navy Seals, Nick North, together with Barry Cohen, worked to develop a watch specifically for the Navy SEALs. This paved the way for Luminox watches to be made for the US Coast Guard, US Air Force, and a variety of other special forces and EMS teams worldwide.
