This Felipe Massa limited production flyback chronograph features a black carbon case with massive 50mm by 40mm by 16.5mm dimensions.
This case took an entire year of research and development to come to fruition. The case is in three parts: bezel, mid-body and case back. The construction of the case is preceded by 68 various stamping operations and the parts require 8 days of work for the bezel, 5 days for the mid-body and 5 days for the case back. Case is secured with a series of titanium screws and is water resistant to 50 meters. The time is shown by the massive skeletonized luminous hands, while the subdials track running seconds and elapsed minutes. There is also a big date display as well as a month indicator. This is the limited dial with the red subdials and yellow ‘RM011-FM’ signature. The rotor features “variable geometry” which actually adjusts to the wearer’s movements. The parts of the rotor and winding system actual adjust themselves so that slow leisurely arm movements increase the efficiency of the winding and rapid, imactful movements slow down the winding efficiency. Movement is made of grade 5 titanium and all parts are hand finished. The power is stored in a double barrel system to improve and optimize the torque stability over an longer period of time, which not only results in better timekeeping but also improved long-term stamina of the movement parts. |
