The Iconic Grande Reverso Ultra Thin from Jaeger-LeCoultre
Tradition and innovation come together in the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin. Inspired by two iconic dates in the history of the Reverso, the Ultra Thin collection recaptures the Reverso's finest hours in contemporary dimensions.
Marvelous Dimensions - Reverso Ultra Thin 1931
The 1931 tribute is the most established of the Reverso Ultra Thin line. True to the Art Deco aesthetic and ingenuity that defined the original Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre has drawn on their extensive archives to create some of the most faithful editions. An instant classic, the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 became a favorite among watch connoisseurs everywhere.
Perhaps the most famous Reverso Ultra Thin is the re-edition of the iconic 1931 model. Just 7.2mm thick and 46mm long, it is possible that the Reverso has found its perfect proportions in this revised form. The stainless steel case honors the original timepiece, preserving its status as a resilient sports watch, while the matt black dial with Deco minute track reaffirms the ageless style of the Reverso.
For the movement, Jaeger-LeCoultre uses the manually-wound manufacture caliber 822. Known for its reliability, it is the preferred caliber of Jaeger-LeCoultre. At 2.94 mm thick, this mechanical masterpiece features 134 components, 21 of which are jewels, and beats at 21,600 vph.
Thanks to its popularity, the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 line has been expanded. In addition to the limited edition version in 18K rose gold that features a white dial, Jeager-LeCoultre has created the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Rouge, Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Bleu, and Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Chocolate.
The latest Chocolate addition pays tribute to the Ultra Thin’s origins in equestrian sport. To celebrate, Jaeger-LeCoultre has entered into a partnership with renowned polo bookmakers Casa Fagliano. Each handmade cordovan leather strap is produced by a member of the Fagliano family using traditional leathercraft techniques. It is just one of the many ways in which Jaeger-LeCoultre seamlessly blends past and present in the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin.
New Heights - Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1948
The Reverso Ultra Thin 1948 illuminates the second era in the history of the Reverso. This was a time of technical progress and industrial design, when timekeeping became an indispensable part of human life. Although the dimensions are the same as the 1931 tributes, the design and interior are what set this watch apart.
The eye is naturally drawn to the “Fabriqué en Suisse” motif that speaks of its fidelity to the 1948 model. Made famous by traditional gadroons, the textured white face with vivid blue hands and baton-shaped hour-markers are a faithful reminder of its Art Deco origins. Within the slender stainless steel case is the Caliber 822/2, an in-house, manually wound movement that is only found inside the Reverso Ultra Thin 1948.
