Buyer's comment:

We were sent a men's version of a Cartier Anglaise despite being told it was a women's version. Once we returned it, they have withheld $600 for shipping and handling for over a week until they "get an invoice from Fed Ex" I can review the invoices for my business in real time, not sure why they can't. Unless they refund the charge, we will be disputing this with our credit card company as the mis-represented the watch and their return policy.

Dealer's comment:

Upon receiving the FedEx invoice for the shipping and handling involved in the transit of the watch, the client has been refunded in accordance with the refund policy we put in place. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience experienced by the client and for the time period that had elapsed whilst waiting for invoice confirmation from the shipping company. We wish the client all the best with future prospects on this platform and hope he may find a satisfactory solution on Chrono24.

Buyer's comment:

After taking 3 weeks to ship out the watch from South Africa, it was held up in US customs for nearly 2 weeks due to the seller not including the proper paperwork with a breakdown of costs. DHL assured me they were in contact with the seller to get this information but it still wasn't cleared. The seller then asked me for a copy of my license and social security number as a last-ditch effort to clear the watch after 2 weeks. I called DHL directly to give them any information they needed but they told me the watch was already in a shipping container headed back to South Africa and there was nothing they could do. The watch was denied customs clearance and shipped back to the seller. A week later the seller told me I was going to have to pay all customs and shipping costs for the return package and they were going to keep around $400 USD of my refund for an item I never saw or had any part in refusing or sending back. I ended up opening a dispute with PayPal since I paid through them and they sided with me and issued me a full refund of my entire purchase. Chrono24 was completely unhelpful during this dispute and offered no mediation, simply washing their hands of it since the payment was made not through them despite facilitating the purchase through their platform.

Dealer's comment:

Despite numerous efforts to contact the buyer for the required information for clearance procedures, via Chrono24, personal email and mobile number, by local and abroad consultants, attempts were unsuccessful. The buyer neglected to respond in a timeframe that would have secured the validity of the information and its submittal date. Direct correspondence from abroad customs clearly stated the following in an email to our logistics and courier account manager: "Unfortunately we cannot stop a direct return from customs as the shipment would not have received clearance in order to enter the country, so it would have to return back to origin and delivered back again. In regards to the customs requirements, they were requested from the receiver as the receiver is the one who was required to provide the clearance paperwork. They would have been informed of the Customs Regulations and the returns date if they did not comply. The initial communication to the receiver was made 14 May 2020 to tel: --- provided on the AWB. Many Thanks," Every effort was made to contact the buyer in a suitable timeframe to obtain the information that was required. Abroad consultants contacted us eventually to try and obtain the information from the buyer as they did not receive the aforementioned details in time. Most unfortunately the buyer responded at a date that was too late and the clearance procedure timeframe had elapsed and the package was scheduled for return to its origin. The buyer was kept up to date throughout the entire process and after the package returned to its sender location. The dispute has since been settled and we bear no ill will to the buyer at all. We apologise for the inconvenience experienced and hope that this unsuccessful transaction would not sour the taste of the Buyers future transactions on this platform - Chrono24.
